Street Children
We see street children
everywhere in Karachi and other urban areas of Pakistan.
They usually sell flowers, cloths, books and copies, or
polish boots or collect garbage and some survive on
begging. Some people even look at them as petty
criminals.
According to Asian
Human Rights Commission, there are 1.2 million children
on the streets of Pakistan's major cities and urban
centers, constituting the country's largest and most
ostracized social group.
The purpose of this
section to share information, and to raise awareness on
this issue and explore what can we do, or is being
doing, in this regard. |
